Description

The West Barn, located 20 yards north-west of the house, dates from the 16th and 18th centuries. It features five bays with projecting centrepieces and later aisles added to the east and north sides. The lower walls are constructed of red Tudor brickwork, which includes a high plinth and slotted openings. The upper structure is timber-framed, showcasing a tall Queen Post truss and arched braces supporting the tie-beams. The roof is tiled with a half-hipped design, and there is corrugated asbestos above the aisle. The upper walls and aisle are covered with weatherboarding.
