Description
The stable block, built in the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century, is now a dwelling located approximately 50 metres west of Sydmonton Court. It is a U-shaped structure featuring a main block that is two storeys high with three windows on each floor. The north wing is also two storeys, while the south wing is a single storey. The building has hipped tile roofing, and the gable of the taller central section, which includes a clock face, has stone verges and brackets between two horizontal bands. Above this section is a hexagonal bell turret topped with a leaded ogee, featuring a wood-framed open arcade with a moulded cornice and lead flashing at the battered base. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches over the ground-floor openings and stone cills. The windows are sashes set in reveals. There is a modern half-glazed door beneath a segmental moulded canopy. The north wing has a rendered inner face, with three garage doorways and three stable doors, while the south wing serves as a domestic range.
