Description

The Priest House, built by Thomas Lamb in 1789, is located on the south side of Mermaid Street. The east side features the date 1789 and the initials "T.L. 70". This three-storey building is constructed of red brick and has a plain front with a parapet. The doorway is accessed by four steps and is framed with a cornice above, featuring a rectangular fanlight and a six-panel moulded door. The southwest corner of the house at the back has been rebuilt following bomb damage. The Priest House is part of a group of listed buildings on Mermaid Street and forms a group with Nos 1, 2, The Tower House, Norman House, Lamb House, and Nos 13 to 17 (consecutive) West Street.
