Description

Nos 4 and 5 Lion Street is a building now used as a single premises, which includes a formerly separate cottage on School Lane. The front of the building dates from the 18th century, while the earlier structure retains timber framing in the upper storey and a 15th-century roof. The building is two storeys high and has one window on each floor. It features painted brick with a parapet, and the south wall is made of brick with a gable that is hung with tiles. The first floor has intact glazing bars. There are two small 19th-century shop fronts with a continuous cornice above them. All the listed buildings on the west side of Lion Street form a group.
