Description

Simon the Pieman is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and more recently. It was originally timber-framed and retains 15th-century ceiling beams and a 16th-century fireplace. The house is two storeys high and has two windows. The first floor is tiled and features two projecting bay windows. A parapet sits above. The modern shop front below incorporates a pair of columns, supporting a projecting hood that extends the full width of the front of the house, directly beneath the bay windows. The building forms part of a group of listed buildings on the west side of Lion Street.
