Description

These are a group of small, vernacular cottages located at 16-23 North Street. They were built in the mid-1830s, specifically between 1835 and 1836 for numbers 22 and 23, and potentially between 1851 and 1852 for numbers 16-21. The cottages are two storeys high with a basement, and each has a single window. They are faced with red brick, featuring window dressings, quoins, and a cornice of cogging. A parapet tops the buildings. Numbers 22 and 23 have a stuccoed front. Most of the original window glazing bars remain intact, with the exception of the ground floor windows of numbers 16 and 17, which have been altered.
