Description

This is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, which was likely refronted in the 18th century. It is now stuccoed and has a parapet. The building comprises numbers 17 to 19, with number 19 set back slightly. Number 19 has a modern bow window on the ground floor and a modern three-light casement window on the first floor, containing leaded panes. Numbers 17 and 18 have modern bowed shop windows on the ground floor, fitted into the original openings, and modern two-light casement windows on the first floor. Behind the parapet is a tiled roof with gable ends. The upper rooms contain exposed timber framing. The rear of numbers 17 and 18 show gables, and number 19 has a hipped roof wing. The listed buildings from number 1 to number 118 on High Street form a group.
