Description

This is a row of timber-frame buildings dating from the 16th century, located on Croft Road. The front is now stuccoed, and the roof is steeply pitched with tiled gables. The buildings are two storeys high, with the first floor overhanging on curved brackets. There are three widely spaced windows across the facade. Number 9 has sash windows with glazing bars; the ground floor features a three-light sash window and an adjacent fielded panel door. Number 11 has a four-light wood mullion window on the first floor, dating to the 17th century, and a ground floor fixed multi-pane window with a moulded cill, alongside a modern entrance door. Number 13 has a sash window with leaded panes on the first floor, and a four-light fixed window with leaded panes on the ground floor, with a modern door to its right. Numbers 9 and 10 have two old gabled dormers. The timber frame is visible at the rear of the buildings.

Numbers 5 to 35 (odd) form a group.
