Description
The Croft, numbers 19 to 23, is a building dating to circa 1800. It has a painted mathematical tile front, weatherboarded end and rear walls, and a slate roof with a hipped end, featuring small paired brackets to the eaves soffit. The building is four storeys high, with a basement at the rear due to the sloping site. It is six windows wide, featuring sash windows with glazing bars in wooden architraves that are flush with the brickwork. The glazing bars have been removed from the windows of number 23, while the ground floor window of number 19 is a modern four-light casement. The first-floor doorways of numbers 19 and 21 are paired, with pilasters and rectangular fanlights (the fanlight of number 21 has tracery). Numbers 21 and 23 have fielded-panel doors, with number 19 featuring a glazed and flush-panelled door. A flat canopy porch is supported by thin iron posts, leading to a flight of steps; number 23 has iron hand railings with turned balusters. Numbers 19 to 23 form a group with numbers 1 to 11 and 15 to 23.
