Description
Numbers 9 (Sunbeam House) and 11 are a pair of tall stuccoed houses dating from around 1810. They feature a hipped tiled roof and small paired brackets at the eaves cornice. Each house has four storeys and a basement. Both have a full-height segmental bow with three-light sashes that include glazing bars. Number 9 has a modern square bay window inserted on the first floor and a balcony on the second floor, which is adorned with a tent-shaped canopy and a cast iron balustrade in a honeysuckle pattern. The third and fourth floors of Number 9 also have continuous tent-shaped canopies over the windows. To the right of the bay on each house is a sash window with glazing bars on the top two floors. Number 9 features a porch with an open pediment and a fanlight with a cornice underneath, while to the left is a Victorian Gothic gabled porch. Number 11 has a long flight of steps with iron railings and turned newels leading to the right-hand doorway, which has an open pedimented porch supported by slim columns, a semi-circular fanlight, and a fielded-panel door. The side wall of Number 11 is tile-hung. Numbers 1 to 11 (odd) and Numbers 15 to 23 (odd) form a group.
