Description

No 56 on Castle Hill Road is an early 19th century house that has undergone significant alterations. The exterior is faced with black mathematical tiles and features a cornice and parapet. It has a hipped slate roof and is two storeys tall with three windows. Two later additions from the 19th century are two-storeyed canted bays with sash windows; the ground floor is faced in black mathematical tiles while the upper part is stuccoed. The glazing bars are missing. A modern wooden balcony has been added to the central first-floor window, which is supported by wooden columns that create a porch for the central flush-panelled doors. This house is part of a group with Nos 46 to 62 (even).
