Description
Kent House is a building from the 17th and early 18th centuries that was refaced in the mid to late 18th century and is finished in stucco. It has two storeys, an attic, and a basement. The exterior features a parapet, a moulded and dentilled cornice, and a moulded string course. The late 19th-century sash windows do not have glazing bars and include vermiculated keyblocks. On the right side, there is a two-storey splayed bay with sash windows. The doorway has a moulded case, a rectangular fanlight, and a hood supported by carved console brackets, with a modern door. To the left, there are 19th-century railings for the basement area. The steep-pitched tile roof has gable ends and two hipped dormers. The rear elevation is made of red brick with twin gables that are tile-hung, featuring sashes and casements, some of which have segmental brick arches. Inside, the basement has ceiling beams and a stop-chamfered beam over the fireplace. All the listed buildings on the High Street up to and including No 118 form a group.
