Description
Lionsdown House is a mid-18th century building with a stuccoed front that incorporates a late 16th century timber frame. It stands two storeys high with an attic. The ground floor features three sash windows with glazing bars and a right-hand doorway that has a flat moulded hood supported by brackets, leading to a fielded panel door. On the first floor, there are four sash windows with glazing bars. The roof is gable-ended and covered with new tiles, and there is a moulded wooden cornice along the edge. A single gabled dormer is present as well.
Inside, the building has moulded ceiling beams with run-out stops on both the ground and first floors, and a similar reused beam can be found in the attic. The interior also includes a modest early 19th century staircase with slender column newels and plain balusters, as well as a wide elliptical arch in the hall. All the listed buildings on the High Street up to and including No 118 form a group.
