Description

Oldhouse Farmhouse, now a house, was originally built in the early 17th century and extensively rebuilt in the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick with an old tile roof, gabled on the left-hand side and hipped on the right. The building has a rectangular plan, incorporating a 17th-century pent roof and a 20th-century extension to the rear.

The farmhouse has two storeys. The front of the building has a rendered plinth. The first floor features three 3-light casement windows, two to the left of centre and one to the right. On the ground floor, there are three 3-light and one 2-light casement windows, spaced irregularly, with a 20th-century entrance door situated between the two right-hand windows. A further 3-light casement is set within a timber-framed, single-storey pent roof extension to the left. Some of the original timber frame is visible externally. A large chimney is located on the ridge to the right of the centre, with three clustered shafts, the top of which was rebuilt in the 20th century.
