Description

The Church of St Luke, built between 1866 and 1870 by G.R. Clarke, features squared coursed sandstone rubble walls with dressed Bath stone quoins and a slate roof. The church includes a six-bay nave, aisles, a chancel, and a square tower with a broach spire that is set asymmetrically on the south side. The windows are simplified, with middle pointed decorations, roll drip moulds, and carved heads or leaves at the springing. There is a projecting south porch with recessed orders and a two-centred arch.

Inside, the church has alternating octagonal and round columns with carved stone capitals depicting flowers and leaves. A delicate iron rood screen and wall painting are located over the chancel arch. There is also a painted and carved wood screen leading to the choir and Lady Chapel, along with stained glass by O'Connor.
