Description

The Lodge at Blacknest Gate to Windsor Great Park is a building constructed in 1834, as indicated by the shield over the door inscribed with W.IV.R 1834. It has been altered and extended in the 20th century. The lodge is designed in a Gothic style and features painted stucco with a low pitched, hipped slate roof. It has a small rectangular plan with extensions.

The exterior is single storey and includes a central chimney topped with a clay pot. The parapet is pierced by cusped, pointed arches, and there is a taller central section with high, octagonal, traceried angle-turrets. The windows are one and two-light casements with glazing bars set in chamfered reveals beneath square hoodmoulds. The central plank door, which has two glass panes, is treated similarly. There are single storey, one bay extensions on both the right and left sides of the lodge. The interior has not been inspected.
