Description
Shottesbrooke Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with extensions from the 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features old tile hipped roofs of varying heights. The building has a central staircase plan and has been extended to the south, creating a double depth plan. It stands two storeys tall and has three chimneys topped with clay pots.
The south front of the farmhouse is symmetrical, consisting of five bays, and includes a plat band and a dentilled eaves course. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and segmental-arched heads, while the second bay has blind windows with bars painted on black render. The entrance door is a six-panelled design, with the top two panels glazed, and is sheltered by a late 19th-century trellis porch featuring a flat moulded hood and an arched front. The remainder of the building has an irregular appearance with 19th-century casement windows.
