Description

York Place is an early 19th century terrace of houses built of buff brick. It comprises numbers 51 to 71 (odd), and forms a group. The houses are three storeys high and feature a stucco plat band above the ground floor, which supports pilasters flanking each front on the upper floors. The pilasters have stepped mouldings that continue as a cornice, topped by a parapet with coping. The roofs are slate covered. The end pairs of houses project slightly forward. There are no pilasters between houses numbers 55-57 and 65-67. Each house has a recessed sash window with intact glazing bars, and a flat-gauged arch above. The doors are of four flush panels, each with a radial glazed semi-circular fanlight above.
