Description
No 1 on King's Road is a narrow corner building dating from around 1800 to 1820. It is two storeys high and constructed of painted brick, topped with a steep slate mansard attic. The building features a plain shallow band below the parapet with stone coping.
On the King's Road side, there is one window with glazing bar sash, while the curved corner is blind and has an inset design. The north return has three intact glazing bar windows and two dormers. The ground floor includes two windows and a slightly altered early 19th-century shop front at the corner. This shop front has two light thin mullioned windows with shaped heads, separated by pilasters.
Flanking the bowed corner door, which is panelled and glazed with a marginal glazed rectangular fanlight, are round-headed side lights. The house door, located on the north return, is framed by pilasters and has three panels along with a similar fanlight above. There is modern facing on the fascia board.
