Description

29 and 31 Sheet Street are two surviving houses from a late 18th-century row of four buildings. They are constructed of dark red brick with a thin stone sill course on the first floor and a parapet with stone coping. The roofs are hipped and slate-covered. Each house has a single window, with sash windows lacking glazing bars. The entrance doors are panelled (6 panels), set within fluted pilaster cases, featuring key-pattern corner blocks and a thin, flat hood supported by cut brackets. Number 29 has a two-storey rectangular bay window added in the 19th century, with tile hanging to the aprons. An arched passage entry is located to the right of Number 31, leading to a door with six flush panels and a radiating grille. Numbers 21 to 31 (odd) are designated as a group.
