Description

Brunswick Terrace comprises a terrace of 13 houses dating to circa 1800. The houses are three storeys high with basements, built of London stock brick with yellow brick flat window arches. They have slate roofs and a stone parapet. Each house features two windows, with glazing bar sash windows, and first floor French casements incorporating marginal glazing and top lights, which open onto Gothic pattern cast iron balconies. Basement windows have four panes. Each house has a five-panel door with a small, semi-circular fanlight featuring radiating and wreathed detail, approached by steps. Many houses retain wooden lattice verandahs over the balconies, incorporating triple arches and panel standards with diamond lattice, and tent roofs with scalloped eaves. Some houses retain original cast iron spearhead railings leading to the steps. Nos. 29 to 61 form a group.
