Description

18 and 20 Adelaide Square are a pair of houses built around 1835 to 1840. They are two storeys high and constructed of stock brick, topped with a hipped slate roof and featuring gutter eaves. Each house has three windows that are symmetrically arranged on the front. The windows have stucco revealed glazing bar sashes, with flat gauged arches on the first floor and round-headed arches on the ground floor, all set within architrave surrounds. Number 18 includes a later 19th-century gabled brick porch with sidelights flanking a four-panel door. Number 20 has a similar doorway to those found at Nos 1 to 29. These houses are part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 29 (odd) and Nos 4, 6, and 18 to 32 (even).
