Description
Nos 4 and 6 Adelaide Square are a pair of houses built around 1835-1840. They are two storeys tall and have a stucco exterior with a plat band above the ground floor, which features horizontal grooving, a thin bed moulding to the frieze, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course. The entrance bay of No 4 is slightly recessed. No 4 has one window, while No 6 has two, both featuring glazing bar sashes set in stucco moulded arches with key surrounds. The ground floor of No 4 has a round-headed window, and No 6 has a later pilastered canted bay. No 4 has a doorway similar to those found at Nos 1 to 29 (odd), while No 6 features a four-panel door with a semi-circular radial glazed fanlight and an archivolt arch on consoles. Nos 4 and 6 are part of a group with Nos 1 to 29 (odd) and 18 to 32 (even).
