Description
These are a pair of houses dating from around 1830 to 1840, situated on the west side of King’s Road. They are three storeys high and have a stucco exterior, accentuated by pilasters with Greek key panels carved into them. The roof is slate, with flat eaves supported by mouldings. Each house has one window on each of the upper floors, featuring glazing bar sash windows. The ground floor incorporates slate-roofed bay windows with marginal glazing and French casements. The side elevations are of stock brick, retaining their original glazing bars. The entrances consist of six-panel doors, reeded doorheads, and semi-circular fanlights. These houses are part of a group that includes the Royal Adelaide Hotel and numbers 48 to 52.
