Description
This is a hay barn and animal shelter located approximately 20 metres south west of Buck Farmhouse. It was formerly part of Buck Farm and is now disused. The barn dates from the late 17th century and 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron. The animal shelter, built in the 18th century, is constructed of brick and has a gabled roof covered with old tiles. The structure has a rectangular plan with five framed bays. There is a midstrey on the west side, with an aisle to the right of the midstrey and the animal shelter to the left. The central entrance has a segmental head and a plank door. Inside the barn, there are queen post roof trusses, two sets of clasped purlins, and straight braces and posts without jowls.
