Description

The Statue of George III, also known as the Copper Horse, is an equestrian statue located in Windsor Great Park. It was erected between 1824 and 1830 and was sculpted by Westmacott. The statue features a bronze figure of George III in classical robes, adorned with a laurel wreath, mounted on a stone base. The base is made of high, irregular rusticated stone and is inscribed with the words: GEORGIO TERTIO/ PATRI OPTIMO/ GEORGIUS REX. Surrounding the base are large scattered stones.
