Description

The turnstiles and offices at Ascot Racecourse were built in 1896, as indicated by the foundation stone inscribed 'VR 1896'. The structure is made of brick with stone dressings and features a flat roof, presenting a long rectangular plan. It consists of one storey and two storeys.

On the exterior, there is a stone band above the plinth level, a moulded string at the impost and first floor levels, a moulded cornice, and a vase balustraded parapet. The south front, which faces the road, has 16 bays. The first and eleventh bays are taller than the others. The first bay lacks windows but features a circular stone motif with a carved royal crown at the upper level. The eleventh bay contains tripartite sash windows with stone mullions and surrounds, while the two bays to the right are lower and have similar windows. The remaining bays have semicircular moulded stone heads and iron shutters below the impost level, which are closed when the building is not in use. Each of these bays also has a circular stone motif with the arms of the former Masters of the Buckhounds carved in stone. The interior has not been inspected.
