Description
This is a barn that adjoins White Place Farmhouse, dating from the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame with daub infill and has an old tiled roof that is gabled on the west side and hipped on the east, standing taller than the adjoining farmhouse, which is listed separately.
The barn has a rectangular plan consisting of five framed bays, along with one bay that was extended in the 19th century at the eastern end. There is a central midstrey on the southern side.
Inside, the barn boasts a Queen strut roof with clasped purlins, long curved knee braces, and wind-braces. The posts are jowled, and there are rafter holes at the feet of the rafters facing west.
