Description
Cromwell Cottage and Hill Cottage are a pair of mid-19th century houses located on the north side of Bath Road. They are two-storey structures made of red brick with hipped slate roofs. The houses feature a central chimney off the ridge and a flanking chimney on the right side. The design is symmetrical with four bays, showcasing double-hung sash windows set in painted reveals, flat rubbed brick arches, and stone sills. On the first floor, the two sash windows on the left have glazing bars. The left-hand door is original with six panels, while the right-hand door is a modern glazed version. Both doors are topped with semi-circular fanlights that have patterned glazing bars, and they are adorned with decorative wrought iron porches featuring scrolls and ogee roofs. There is a late 19th-century extension set back on the left side and an early 20th-century extension on the right side.
