Description
The southernmost barn at Rushall Manor Farm is an 18th-century structure that has been altered. It is timber framed and features weather-board cladding on a later concrete plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn is single-aisled with seven bays and has opposing cart entries. The fifth bay includes double board doors, with the entrance located in a gabled midstray, and there is a later lean-to shelter-shed attached. Inside, the timber frame consists of tall panels, with jewelled posts that are arch-braced to the beams, wall-plate, and arcade plate, while the aisle-posts are tied to the wall-plate. The roof is supported by double, collared, queen-post trusses, with the central collar queen-posts being taller, and features two tiers of through pulins along with old rafters.
