No. 40 The Street is a 17th-century cottage constructed with a timber frame and brick nogging. It features moulded timber eaves beneath an old tiled roof, with an end stack located to the right. The building stands two storeys high and has one three-light leaded casement window on each floor. To the left, there is a half-glazed door.
