Description
Dumbledore is a Grade II house located on Jennetts Hill in Stanford Dingley. It dates from the late 15th century and has undergone alterations in the 17th and 20th centuries. The building features a rendered cruck timber frame and an old tile roof, with two large gables that have 20th-century two-light casements and end stacks. Originally, it had an open hall consisting of two cruck-framed bays, with one storey and an attic. The ground floor has three 20th-century casements, a boarded door, and a 20th-century gabled porch situated between the first and second windows from the right. The foot of one cruck is exposed at the rear. Inside, there is an inserted 17th-century floor and smoke-blackened roof timbers. Dumbledore is listed as Grade II for its very complete two-bay cruck frame.
