Description
The Scotch Piper Public House is a Grade II* listed building, believed to date from 1320, with probable construction in the 16th century. It features a cruck frame, lime-washed brick walls, and a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high with three irregular bays and has four battered buttresses at the southern end. The windows are two- and three-light horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. The entrance, located between the first and second bays, consists of a four-panel door. The second bay includes a gabled dormer, while the end bay has higher eaves above an attic window. There are two brick stacks on the roof. The building has later additions on the left return and at the rear. Inside, there are at least two cruck trusses, and the ground floor features some chamfered beams, one of which is elaborately moulded. Additionally, there is a wattle chimney hood on the first floor.
