Description
The Old Rectory is a Grade II* listed house built around 1720. It features red brick with grey headers, a plinth, and a plat band. The roof is covered with old tiles and has wooden dentil eaves cornice, end stacks, parapets, and three dormers that contain 19th-century casements with four octagonal lights. The end dormers have triangular pediments, while the central dormer has a segmental pediment. The building has two storeys and an attic, with five bays of glazing bar sashes that have exposed wooden boxes and gauged heads. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a radial fanlight. The doorcase is adorned with Ionic pilasters featuring blocked rustication, a five block keystone, a pulvinated frieze, and a triangular pediment. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase with twisted balusters and wainscot panelling, and the left-hand ground floor room is fully panelled.
