Description
Nos. 1 and 2, South Cottages are two cottages built around 1912 by Sir Edwin Lutyens in a Neo-Vernacular style. They are constructed of red brick with a tile-hung first floor and a tiled roof, and they stand two storeys tall. The cottages feature two large ridge stacks positioned off-centre to the left and right, along with a small stack at the rear, all supported by clasping buttresses. On the north front, there are two first-floor two-light casement windows, two central ground-floor two-light casement windows, and two boarded doors located to the left and right. Additionally, there are two hipped dormers and a small low second range with a separate roof at the rear.
