Description
The remaining wall of the Church of St. John the Baptist is located on Church Lane in Ufton Nervet. This structure is likely of medieval origin and measures approximately 5 metres long and 5 metres tall. It is constructed from uncoursed flint and tile, featuring a red brick plinth and dressings. The Church of St. John the Baptist served as the parish church for Ufton Richard. In 1434-5, the parishes of Ufton Richard and Ufton Robert were merged, leading to the Church of St. John Baptist becoming a chapel under the Church of St. Peter. After being converted into cottages, the church was ultimately demolished in 1886.
