Description

College House is an 18th-century house located on the east side of Lambourn High Street. It is a two-storey building constructed of coursed, squared sarsen stone with brick dressings, quoins, a plinth, and a first-floor band. The roof is of old tiles, hipped, with a central brick pediment containing an oval window. Below the pediment is a brick panel containing narrow, blank recesses flanking a semi-circular headed vertical sliding sash window with glazing bars. To either side of the central feature are two vertical sliding sash windows with cambered leads and glazing bars, set in exposed box frames. The main entrance is a six-panelled door positioned under an architrave, flanked by cut swan-necked brackets and a moulded hood that breaks forward over the brackets.
