Description
The game larder at Woolley Park, built in the mid-19th century, is located approximately 30 metres to the northwest of Woolley House. This single-storey structure is octagonal in shape and constructed from red brick in Flemish bond, topped with Welsh slate roofs.
On the west side, there is a 2-bay open-fronted covered shelf. The larder features pilaster buttresses at each corner and a stone step leading up to a door made of six raised and fielded panels on the east side, with a similar door on the west side. The north side has unhorned 12-pane sash windows, while all openings are adorned with flat brick arches. The roof includes a central louvre topped with a finial.
The covered shelf, which is open on the south side, is supported by octagonal wooden posts, with half-octagonal posts on the sides, and features curving braces to the wall plate. Inside, the larder has a brick floor with a central stone roundel, a board dado, and a slate shelf.
