Description
The building is a school and school house, constructed in 1863 by G.E. Street. It is made of stone with red brick and stone dressings, and features plain-tiled roofs. The layout is roughly cruciform, with the house located to the south and the schoolroom forming the long arm of the cross to the north. The house is one and a half storeys tall, characterized by a steeply pitched roof with half hips, and has stacks at the junction of the house and schoolroom, as well as to the west of the house.
On the east elevation, there is a low, one-storey gable to the left with coupled sash windows, and a tall gable for the house with coupled sashes on each floor. The schoolroom to the right has a half-hipped cross gable above a three-light plate traceried window set in a two-centred arch, along with two tall coupled lights to the right. The south elevation features a gable with coupled sashes on each floor to the left, and the roof extends down on brackets to create a canopy over a boarded door set in a two-centred arched opening, located off centre to the right.
