Description

Malthouse Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 17th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof on the north side and a tiled roof on the south side. The building has a long plan consisting of four bays running from east to west and is one and a half storeys high. On the south side, there are two eaves dormers and end stacks. The north elevation includes three 20th-century three-light casement windows and a 20th-century glazed door with a sidelight, which is positioned off-centre to the left. Inside, there are three complete cruck frames with cambered ties and a soot blackened ridge piece.
