Description
Lower Farm House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 17th century, with the south end rebuilt in the 19th century and 20th-century extensions added. The building features a thatched, half-hipped roof with ridge chimneys located to the north of the center and a side chimney on the east wall. The walls are made of flint with brick dressings and stone quoins on the north side, along with a timber-clad lean-to on the north. The structure consists of three bays running from north to south, with a single-storey extension added to the west in the 20th century. The house is two storeys tall.
On the east elevation, there is a battered chimney that stands out from the wall on the left. The first floor has two four-light casements, while the ground floor features three irregular casements, a door opposite the ridge, and a wide casement to the right. Inside, the first floor showcases tall queen post trusses and thin curved braces, both of which are exposed. Each floor contains 17th-century fireplaces, with the ground floor fireplace featuring chamfered stone jambs and an arched lintel.
