Description

The structure is a Type 24 pillbox, located immediately east of Benham Bridge. Built in 1940, it was designed by the War Office and is polygonal in shape. This pillbox is one of a pair that were constructed to defend the bridge as part of Southern Command's GHQ Line Blue for the defense of the UK. The construction material is concrete.
