Description

Enborne Chase is a house built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It features red brick construction with some tile hanging and an H plan roof, complete with a valley gutter and two stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with all window sashes including glazing bars.

The west front has four bays and includes a gabled brick and tile porch located in the third bay from the left, which has brick quoins and dentil eaves. The porch features an arched doorway with a panelled door and a radial fanlight. The left-hand bay is likely from the early 19th century. There is a one-storey brick and tile addition to the left with two windows.

On the south front, there are also four bays with twin gables, each containing one window. The first floor and attic are tile hung, while the far left bay has blank windows. The ground floor sashes in the two right-hand bays extend from floor to ceiling.

The east front consists of three bays, with the central bay projecting slightly and featuring a window in the gable above, along with a stack to the left. The central sash on the ground floor extends from floor to ceiling, and there is a central arched sash on the first floor with a balcony. The left-hand bay has a window only on the first floor, while the right-hand bay is likely from the early 19th century.

Inside, the house mainly reflects early 19th-century design. The ground floor room to the right on the south front has a hop basket motif on the fireplace and a moulded cornice, along with contemporary pelmets. There is a double-height entrance hall with a staircase. The house is dated 1803 in the gable on the west front.
