Description
No. 1 Bridge Street is a house that has been converted into a house and shop, dating from the late 18th century. It features a tiled roof with a chimney on the right side. The front of the building is rendered, while the side is constructed of brick in English bond. The structure consists of three sections: one block facing the street and two additional blocks at right angles, creating an L-shape along the riverbank.
The front block is two storeys high with an attic. It has a central gabled dormer on the right, which contains a wide glazing bar sash window with an exposed frame and a cambered head. To the left of the dormer, there is a narrower blocked opening, along with a late 19th-century shop front and door, complete with a fascia and blind box.
On the river side, the central block has a slightly lower ridge. To the left, there is a blank gable with a blocked opening on the ground floor. In the centre and to the right, there is one glazing bar sash window with an exposed frame and cambered head in each block. A 20th-century door is located under a blocked opening to the left of the central block.
