Description
Tower Lodge and the adjoining gateway are an entrance lodge and gateway built in the mid to late 18th century, with a 20th-century addition at the rear. The structure is made of stuccoed brick featuring banded flint rustication and a string course. It has a dentil brick cornice and a triangular pediment over the central projection to the east, topped with an old tile roof, all designed in the Gothick style. The building stands two storeys tall.
On the east front, there is a central circular window on the first floor, adorned with rusticated keystones. Flanking this are two ground floor diamond leaded arched windows, alongside a central arched door that features an ogee-arched glazed panel. A small oval window is located on the first floor to the north, while the entrance to the rear is also present. To the right, set back, is an octagonal tower that rises in two stages and is topped with a battlemented brick parapet. The tower has arched traceried windows on alternating faces, with blank arched panels and blank circular panels featuring quatrefoils on each face above the first floor.
To the north, there is a four-centred brick archway with imposts and arched reveals, topped by a string and stone coped parapet. A coped brick retaining wall curves down to a square end pier to the north.
