Description

The Royal Albert Hotel is a 19th-century building located on Albert Road Square. It is constructed of yellow brick with a grooved stucco ground floor, featuring giant pilasters and a cornice above. The hotel has a hipped slate roof with a modillion cornice and stands three storeys tall with an attic, arranged in three bays. The central bay includes two arched windows on the first and second floors. The ground floor windows retain their original arched springs but have altered glazing. Above, there are sash windows with glazing bars, with the outer ones on the first floor featuring pedimented heads on console brackets. There is a similar one bay elevation to Bridge Terrace, and a single storey wing is located at the right end of the building.
