Description
The Church of St Michael and All Angels, located on Bassett Avenue, was built between 1897 and 1910 by E. P. Warren. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a tiled roof. The church is designed in the Perpendicular style and includes a three-bay nave with buttresses and a clerestory, as well as a chancel. The exterior showcases triple traceried windows with relieving arches and has north and south aisles. A bellcote is situated over the west front. Inside, there are six broad rib-vaulted bays, four for the nave and two for the chancel, separated by a road-screen. The church also contains two pieces of heraldic glass from around 1825, which were taken from North Stoneham Church after it suffered bomb damage.
