Description

Milestone located adjacent to The Red Lion Public House, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of Portland stone and features a square stone pillar with an applied cast-iron plate. The plate displays the distances, reading '65 miles from London, 13 from Petersfield, 1 to Portsmouth'. This iron plate has replaced the original worn inscription on the stone.
