Description
Castlethorpe Mill is a corn mill and millhouse dating from the 18th century. The mill is constructed of coursed rubblestone, with a stone lower storey and a brick upper storey, topped with tiled roofs. It has two storeys plus dormers and features five bays, while the house attached to it has two bays and also consists of two storeys. The house includes paired casement windows and a central doorway, with gable and party stacks. The mill has three windows, with a mill-race on each side and an irregular opening on the first floor. There are four gabled dormers, and to the left, there is an additional bay that contains a cowshed with a loft above. Much of the original machinery remains in place, although the water wheel is missing.
