Description

Brook Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, altered subsequently. It is constructed of rubble stone with a 19th-century brick addition, and has an old tile roof, half-hipped at the east end, with brick chimneys located centrally and at the west end. The north front is divided into two sections. The left-hand part is of two bays and has four-light upper wood mullioned and transomed windows with glazing bars. On the ground floor, it features a six-panelled door with an architrave surround and flat hood in the left-hand bay, accompanied by a small window to the left and a five-light casement to the right. The right-hand part has a 19th-century door in a stone surround, positioned to the right of its centre, with three-light casements on either side and a single window to the left on the first floor. All windows have painted wooden lintels. The south front includes a large, two-gabled, two-storey brick wing added in the 19th century to the right, with two bays of three-light casements to the left.
